Nippon Club Baseball Tournament In New York

With a score of 1-0, KBD won First Place at the 41st Nippon Baseball Tournament, defeating team Matsui.  This win earned their fifth overall title and their second in the last three tournaments.

The game proved to be a pitcher’s duel, scoreless until KBD's Takashi Mishima connected on a 2-out RBI single in the top of the 4th-inning.  Team Matsui was able to load the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the 9th-inning, but with great pitching and tight defense, KBD was able to come out victorious.

The two-month tournament included 16 companies and was held at Randall's Island, NYC.   Mishima was named the batting MVP and Sash Katayama was named the pitching MVP.
