Title: Electrical Group Leader

SCOPE:

This position provides technical expertise in designing and engineering building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, security, paging, and low-voltage data systems. This role ensures safe, reliable, and energy-efficient operation while applying advanced engineering principles to solve complex challenges. The incumbent independently makes critical design decisions, supervises and mentors engineering staff, and collaborates with other group leaders to optimize team efficiency and project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop scope of work documents for the preliminary design/engineering process.

· Develop design criteria and equipment selection in preliminary design/engineering process for preparation of construction documents.

· Develop specifications, working drawings, instructions, and other related documents of a complex project of large size or projects of medium and small size.

· Responsible for overseeing the electrical design group for production of full permit and construction drawing packages.

· Maintain license in a variety of states/jurisdictions to sign and seal as the Engineer of Record for all electrical drawing packages produced by electrical design group.

· Responsible for quality assurance/quality control of all drawing packages produced by the electrical design group.

· Analyzes complex engineering problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.

· Monitors project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget.

· Plan, organize, and supervise the work of junior engineers, coordinating their contributions to specific projects.

· Plan, organize, and supervise engineering activities for a project of significant size and complexity or two or more projects of small and medium size and complexity.

· Communicate appropriate information on project status, scope changes and problem areas to project managers.

· Maintain current knowledge of National Electrical Codes and NFPA as well as design and construction procedures to meet changing priorities.

· Collaborate with design directors and president to determine long-range plans and objectives of the company.

· Assist in the selection of new employees for the department, and act as a mentor to promote initial growth within the department.

· Participate in man-hour estimates for the engineering activities and provides guidance to subordinate.

· Interface with project managers to determine specific project staffing needs.

· Collaborate with senior management to set team goals and conduct performance reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree

· 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent knowledge/experience

· Professional Engineer (PE) license required

· Strong understanding of electrical engineering software’s/computer applications to effectively manage engineering assignments

Title: Senior Project Manager
Reports to: Project Executive or Business Unit Leader

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
It is the function of the Project Manager to manage the Kajima project team on a project (or multiple smaller projects) to ensure delivery to the client of the services committed to by Kajima. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Coordinate and direct the Design, Estimating, Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting, Cost, and Construction functions as they relate to the completion of the project under his/her direction.
  2. Ensure the master progress schedule is established and maintained, incorporating dates and times, for owner decisions, availability of design information, procurement of materials and subcontracts, lead times for fabrication and field installation.
  3. Establish and maintain effective relationships with the Client and Kajima project team and their various subcontracted services.
  4. Execute projects in conformance with all contract documents and achieve expected financial results.
  5. Assure that the Company’s standard of quality is established and maintained throughout the project.
  6. Effectively organize, manage and train the field and office staff of the project and assure the continued development of assigned staff by use of performance evaluations, varying assignments and promoting positive project morale. 
  7. Ensure that applications for payment by the client are properly submitted, payments promptly received, and funds are properly disbursed. 
  8. Keep management informed as to the progress of the project, its financial and cash positions, and status of current Client relations.
  9. Perform buyout or assist Preconstruction Manager in buyout process.
  10. Adhere to and positively support the KBDG’s safety policy as set forth in the company’s Safety Manual.
  11. Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the Business Unit or as directed by the Business Unit Leader or Regional Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A four-year degree in Construction, Engineering or Architecture, and at least six years of Design/Building Construction experience required.
  2. Extensive building construction experience complimenting non-engineering or architectural training is also appropriate.
  3. Experience in pre-construction and construction services for a variety of building construction types is desirable.
  4. Extensive knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques.
  5. Knowledge of various design and construction means, methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
  6. Demonstrates management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  7. Must be eligible to work in the United States and does not require sponsorship.
