Design Department - Atlanta Headquarters
Title: Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Headquarters)
Compensation Status: Exempt
SUMMARY Independently performs detailed phases of design engineering work for a project of moderate size and complexity to design and engineer building electrical power distribution, lighting, building life safety, emergency and UPS, security, paging and low voltage voice and data systems to assure safe reliable and energy efficient design. This requires the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria where the scope is already outlined in the form of contract drawings, specifications, one-line drawings and component estimates derived during the preliminary design process. The incumbent must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of design engineering and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop scope of work documents for the preliminary design process
2. Develop design criteria and equipment selection in preliminary design process for preparation of construction documents.
3. Develops specifications, working drawings, instructions, and other related documents of a complex project of moderate size.
4. Selects the materials, equipment and systems based on constructability and value to conform to company standards and project budget.
5. Reviews vendor bids and drawings for major components to be used in the system to assure compliance with specifications, code and requirements of the project.
6. Reviews drawings and evaluates the need for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations.
7. Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities.
8. Ensures that production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
9. May plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level engineers who assist with particular projects.
10. Responsible for keeping current on new electrical products and must be able to judge their suitability for specific uses. Should compile and communicate with said product representatives on a regular basis.
11. Communicate appropriate information on project status, scope changes and problem areas to senior electrical engineer.
12. Maintain current knowledge of National Electrical Codes as well as design and construction procedures to meet changing priorities.
13. File calculations in a complete and orderly manner for future reference.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This classification normally requires a 4-year Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology degree and 5-7 years’ related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
2. Proficiency in utilizing various computer software packages such as AutoCAD, Revit and electrical engineering software’s.
3. Knowledge of power system design and installation.

Title: Senior Project Manager
Reports to: Project Executive or Business Unit Leader
Location: Atlanta, GA (Office or Field as needed)

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
It is the function of the Project Manager to manage the Kajima project team on a project (or multiple smaller projects) to ensure delivery to the client of the services committed to by Kajima.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate and direct the Design, Estimating, Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting, Cost, and Construction functions as they relate to the completion of the project under his/her direction.
- Ensure the master progress schedule is established and maintained, incorporating dates and times, for owner decisions, availability of design information, procurement of materials and subcontracts, lead times for fabrication and field installation.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with the Client and Kajima project team and their various subcontracted services.
- Execute projects in conformance with all contract documents and achieve expected financial results.
- Assure that the Company’s standard of quality is established and maintained throughout the project.
- Effectively organize, manage and train the field and office staff of the project and assure the continued development of assigned staff by use of performance evaluations, varying assignments and promoting positive project morale.
- Ensure that applications for payment by the client are properly submitted, payments promptly received, and funds are properly disbursed.
- Keep management informed as to the progress of the project, its financial and cash positions, and status of current Client relations.
- Perform buyout or assist Preconstruction Manager in buyout process.
- Adhere to and positively support the KBDG’s safety policy as set forth in the company’s Safety Manual.
- Perform additional assignments as required by the operating needs of the Business Unit or as directed by the Business Unit Leader or Regional Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A four-year degree in Construction, Engineering or Architecture, and at least six years of Design/Building Construction experience required.
- Extensive building construction experience complimenting non-engineering or architectural training is also appropriate.
- Experience in pre-construction and construction services for a variety of building construction types is desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of various design and construction means, methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
- Demonstrates management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and does not require sponsorship.
Title: Business Development Associate/Researcher
Reports to: VP Director of Sales and Marketing
Location: Headquarters Office
Compensation Status: Exempt
Summary
Develop and manage a pipeline of leads that result in pricing opportunities for KBD Group so that the annual goal for new sales is achieved, focusing on direct contact with current and new clients, clients with capital expenditure budgets for industrial manufacturing facilities, and Architect and Engineering firms.

- Conduct comprehensive market research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscapes to identify potential business opportunities.
- Analyze market data to evaluate the potential of new markets, products, and services. Develop actionable insights that drive strategic initiatives.
- Identify and prioritize potential business opportunities through data-driven research and analysis.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate research findings and business opportunities to the business development team and senior management.
- Work closely with the business development, sales, and marketing teams to align research with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze competitor activities, market share, and strategies to help the company maintain a competitive edge.
- Stay updated on industry developments, emerging trends, and technological advancements to provide proactive recommendations.
- Identify and pursue prospective projects by meeting and networking with clients, architects, engineers, and owner’s reps.
- Regularly meet with prospective, existing clients, and other key individuals and companies related to specific projects.
- Work closely with headquarters concerning national sales contacts in the United States; consideration for Japanese clients; corporate sales meetings, conferences and seminars.
- Perform additional assignments as required by Business Unit Leaders and Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
- Prepare and update a weekly report to keep management advised of the current status of potential projects and prospects submitted.
- Provide timely reporting of activities as required.
- Develop and perform presentations in the pursuit of sales.
- Develop and implement winning strategies for projects.
- Travel as required to fulfill duties.
- Attend and work trade shows/conferences at various locations throughout the United States.
- Ensure that the company procedures including preparation of project information for project authorizations are properly followed.

Competencies
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Reside within a reasonable commute of the Atlanta Office.
Required Education and Experience
- A four-year degree may be in business or in engineering or a construction related curriculum.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in sales of industrial projects with a proven track record of selling industrial projects.
