KBD Group is proud to present this edition’s employee spotlight. This month, we would like to shine the spotlight on Saba Hariri Diba. Saba started with KBD Group as an intern in the Summer of 2012. One year later, she was hired on full-time and has been employed with the company for the past 5 years. Saba is a Project Engineer, responsible for completing engineering and construction projects by planning, organizing, and controlling all elements of the project.
Q: | How long have you worked for KBD? |
A: | I interned with Kajima for a year before I came on board as full-time for five years. |
Q: | Why did you choose profession? |
A: | I like building and assembling things. And if I can be a part of a larger scale building and assembly, whether it creates a place to live or creates job opportunities for others, then I feel like I have accomplished something. I’d like to be useful to society and I can by choosing this as my career. On another note, I didn’t like biology or chemistry so construction was it. LOL |
Q: | What do you like most about KBD? |
A: | My co-workers. And also the fact that if there is a bit of challenge, I can ask anyone for help and I will receive it in the most kindest and patient way. |
Q: | What is your proudest moment at KBD? |
A: | RIGHT NOW! The fact that I was chosen as the employee of the month is a big accomplishment. That means my company is proud of me. |
Q: | What has been your favorite project? |
A: | Bridgestone… DEFINITELY Bridgestone. |
Q: | What do you find the most challenging at KBD? |
A: | What I find most challenging is time and not having enough of it, especially when working on several different tasks or projects. I am detail oriented and that may cause a bit delay in delivering a certain task on time. Sometimes two or more matters require the same amount of urgent attention and I wouldn’t want to pay more attention to one and not to the other. Although I don’t mind multitasking, I wish we could have more assistance in my role to learn and help. |
Q: | How has KBD helped you in your career development? |
A: | Whatever I have learned about construction I have learned at KBD. School taught me some but KBD taught me more, A LOT more. |
Q: | What do you do when you’re not at work? Tell us about any activities or hobbies you enjoy. |
A: | Watching movies (binge watching) is my favorite hobby. 😀 |
