KBD Group provided Design-Build services for the construction of a GE locomotive manufacturing plant. The project included the repurposing of a 672,678 SF new shell building with a 261,576 SF addition for a total of 934,254 SF. Process equipment coordination included assembly stations, laser cutting equipment, plasma cutting equipment, paint booths, curing ovens, service pits, operational/functional test facility, 50 gantry cranes, and 20 bridge cranes up to 110 ton capacity. Our project scope included design, engineering, and construction services for office, process piping, process equipment, detached chemical warehouse, detached fueling system, interior & exterior train rail system and spurs, all utilities and power distribution.
