At Kajima Building and Design Group (KBDG), SAFETY is one of the core values that guide our everyday decision-making. During the month of September, OSHA 10 classes were offered to all KBDG employees. The program was led by KBDG’s Mike Roush, our National Safety Director, who taught the two-day 10-hour course. Employees were able to learn about fall protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), scaffolding, OSHA inspection procedures, OSHA construction standards for compliance, Lockout Tagout, and more. Because of the successful efforts and employee involvement, Mike Roush was recognized for taking the initiative for meeting OSHA qualifications, leading the course, and offering training to all employees.
OSHA 10 is an outreach and voluntary training program provided by the Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA), of the United States Department of Labor. It provides 10 hours of training to the workers and explores appreciation, prevention, and avoidance as well as reduction of safety and health hazards in the workplace. It also enriches the workers’ knowledge of their rights, employer responsibilities, and procedures for complaints and suggestions. OSHA 10 does not meet training requirements for any OSHA standard.
