I remember when I was six years old, there was a new 20-story hybrid (half office and half hotel) building which was beginning construction just by my home. I watched the construction start from scratch to completion. When the construction was done, there was a small blue pyramid on the top of the building, which I could see from my home’s window. I think from a young age, I felt the construction process was very interesting. Even now, when I come back from Shanghai and see that small blue pyramid on the top of that building, I still can remember the feeling from the first time I saw it when I was young.
Starting at that time, I really liked construction. So, when I had the college entrance test, the construction management was my major choice.
After I graduated and finished my first construction project in China, I saw the building which I built and fully recalled the happiness and surprise when I saw that small blue pyramid. This is the origin of my profession.
