What is a groundbreaking Ceremony?

In the construction industry, a groundbreaking ceremony is a traditional event that marks the first day of construction for a new project. A shovel (or multiple shovels) are used to dig into the project site ground. The shovel is a ceremonial element itself and is sometimes colored gold. Many cultures celebrate this practice, and these ceremonies often include notable guests, such as politicians and business leaders. This event can sometimes include a bulldozer in place of the shovel, or in some cases, both a shovel and bulldozer are used in this special event.
