PROJECT OVERVIEW

KBD Group provided design-build services for a new 82,000 SF greenfield facility for a dissolvable film producing company. The facility will have production area, a warehouse space, and office & lab space. Scope will include an entire site package, concrete tilt walls, MEP, process utility connections. The manufacturing building will be the first built in the USA by Ecopol and will serve as their North American Headquarters.

American Fuji Seal

KBD Group provided Design-Build services for American Fuji Seal, a manufacturer of shrink-sleeve labels, self-adhesive labels, spouted pouches and packaging machinery. This manufacturing facility project involved 200,000 SF Tilt-up building with structural steel columns, joists and metal decking. Project also included a 60 Mil PVC roofing, some explosion relief panels, building plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.

The project consists of a main conveyor package Hub building, a 775,000 SF facility with 40’ varying roof heights for conveying systems and package car loading.

KBD Group provided design-build services for this 273,588 SF building for Noviland. Scope includes a 45 dock doors, an ESFR High Pressure System, gas heating system, and a 39.5 foot ceiling height. The roof type is a 45 mil PLY TPO membrane system, and the interior lighting includes a led high bay with standard efficiency 360 integral motion sensor.

KBD Group provided design-build services for this 192,000 SF assembly building with 38 shipping and receiving docks that will produce Trane residential air conditioning units for Trane Technologies. The building has a connector corridor from new building to existing assembly plant.

KBD Group provided Design-Build Services for this 17 floor hotel renovation at 235 West 35th Street. This unique, tech-forward hotel project entailed complete gut and renovation of this building with a double-height lobby with an animatronic T-Rex welcoming guests. All 92 guest rooms feature Japanese style soaking tubs and TOTO washlets, while the superior suites feature private balconies and LG Styler closets that steams and refreshens clothing. Other amenities include a guest lounge and a meeting room.

KBD Group is providing General Contracting Services for Perfect Plastic Printing’s Expansion project to support plastic card manufacturer serving financial institutions throughout the world. The building is being constructed with insulated load bearing precast concrete exterior building walls, structural steel framing and a TPO roof system. Building aesthetic enhancements will include glazed aluminum entrance systems complimenting the composite metal and glass building canopies and punched window units. Building features include LED lighting and associated lighting control system; one (1) new 1,600amp electrical service and a 350kW generator; DuctileCrete floor slabs; 6000 SF security vault structure; fire protection systems; two (2) dock positions, and solar wall panels; Site improvements include on site storm water detention and 170 car parking incorporating permeables. Interior spaces include approximately 8,400 SF of Class ‘A’ office area; 31,300 SF of air conditioned and humidified process area; and 10,500 SF of assembly and warehouse area.

The project involves selective demolition, lobby renovations for both upper and lower lobbies, new café space, a new gym facility, a golf simulator, build out of an office spec space, a public bathroom and elevator lobby renovations for all 7-floors.

KBD Group provided Design-Build services for the expansion of the Internap Atlanta data center, which is destined to become one of the largest multi-tenant data centers in the southeast. The scope of work included all design and planning for a phased build-out of an existing 40,000 SF office to become a 200 KW/SF data center. Included in this phase was over 12,000 SF of raised floor, new infrastructure rooms, dedicated new electrical and mechanical infrastructure and a shared generator farm as well as 14,000 SF of future data center space. Construction services included multiple road closures for the rigging and erecting of the transformers, air-cooled chillers and chilled water pumps. Design services included 3D modeling and CFD analysis.

Speculative Warehouse

KBD Group provided general contracting services for this 242,515 SF speculative distribution facility with 32 foot clear height, insulated precast concrete exterior walls and R17 single ply mechanically attached TPO roof, 7 inch concrete floor slabs, and 40 dock positions. 80 double dome skylights were installed to allow natural light to enter the facility. The building was heated with gas fired roof mounted make-up air units, while the fire protection system was an ESFR system complete with electric fire pump. The electrical system included a 1600 amp capacity service plus a 100 amp house service. Parking was provided for 129 trailers and 218 autos. Project was awarded LEED Silver status by the USGBC. Upon leasing by the landlord, KBD was retained to complete required tenant improvements for a total of 3 various tenants.

KBD Group provided General Contracting services for this 672,678 SF warehouse/distribution building and office with a 32’ minimum clear height behind first girder line fin from loading docks. Construction consisted of tilt-up concrete wall panels, conventional steel framed roof using bar joists and joist girders, single ply TPO roofing. Building was heated and ventilated, included an ESFR sprinkler system and all associated concrete paving and driveways. Building was designed to accommodate multiple tenants.
