PROJECT OVERVIEW
KBD Group provided Design-Build services for the expansion of the Internap Atlanta data center, which is destined to become one of the largest multi-tenant data centers in the southeast. The scope of work included all design and planning for a phased build-out of an existing 40,000 SF office to become a 200 KW/SF data center. Included in this phase was over 12,000 SF of raised floor, new infrastructure rooms, dedicated new electrical and mechanical infrastructure and a shared generator farm as well as 14,000 SF of future data center space. Construction services included multiple road closures for the rigging and erecting of the transformers, air-cooled chillers and chilled water pumps. Design services included 3D modeling and CFD analysis.

Speculative Warehouse

KBD Group provided general contracting services for this 242,515 SF speculative distribution facility with 32 foot clear height, insulated precast concrete exterior walls and R17 single ply mechanically attached TPO roof, 7 inch concrete floor slabs, and 40 dock positions. 80 double dome skylights were installed to allow natural light to enter the facility. The building was heated with gas fired roof mounted make-up air units, while the fire protection system was an ESFR system complete with electric fire pump. The electrical system included a 1600 amp capacity service plus a 100 amp house service. Parking was provided for 129 trailers and 218 autos. Project was awarded LEED Silver status by the USGBC. Upon leasing by the landlord, KBD was retained to complete required tenant improvements for a total of 3 various tenants.

Office / Warehouse

KBD Group provided General Contracting services for this 672,678 SF warehouse/distribution building and office with a 32’ minimum clear height behind first girder line fin from loading docks. Construction consisted of tilt-up concrete wall panels, conventional steel framed roof using bar joists and joist girders, single ply TPO roofing. Building was heated and ventilated, included an ESFR sprinkler system and all associated concrete paving and driveways. Building was designed to accommodate multiple tenants.
