PROJECT OVERVIEW

The project consists of a main conveyor package Hub building, a 775,000 SF facility with 40’ varying roof heights for conveying systems and package car loading.  Inside the main Hub includes approximately 58,000 SF of one and two-story office complexes. Building is constructed with tilt wall concrete panels and a TPO roof system. Includes (92) input dock doors, (328) outbound doors, and (6) drive in doors for the egress of (126) package cars.

The main Hub facility is designed to ship approximately 80,000 packages per hour in peak operation. Automated conveyor systems sort packages between and 16 – 20 hours a day. In peak season they will be able to ship over 2 million packages a day! This is the 4th largest regional package conveyor Hub ever built for UPS.

Additional support buildings include an approximately 28,000 SF Auto repair facility to accommodate maintenance and repairs for (3) package car bays, (17) tractor bays and (9) trailer repair bays. Two Employee Entrance and Security facilities and 3,300 SF Retail & Customer Service Center.

The following site improvements were completed:

  • – 69kV Main Electrical Substation installation to feed (6) 12.47kV unit substations inside the main Hub Building & Auto Shop

– Two Diesel / Gas & CNG Fueling Islands with above ground fuels storage tanks

– Fire Pump Building

– Pre-Fab Guard Shack

– Salt Storage Shelter

– One truck wash facility – 2 lane wash tunnel

– 192 acre site improvements including paving for approximately (750) 53’ trailers, (300) 28’ trailer staging, (260) tractor staging positions, (10) package car positions and approximately (1800) employee parking positions

KBD Group provided design-build services for this 273,588 SF building for Noviland. Scope includes a 45 dock doors, an ESFR High Pressure System, gas heating system, and a 39.5 foot ceiling height. The roof type is a 45 mil PLY TPO membrane system, and the interior lighting includes a led high bay with standard efficiency 360 integral motion sensor.

Trane Assembly Building

KBD Group provided design-build services for this 192,000 SF assembly building with 38 shipping and receiving docks that will produce Trane residential air conditioning units for Trane Technologies. The building has a connector corridor from new building to existing assembly plant.

KBD Group provided Design-Build Services for this 17 floor hotel renovation at 235 West 35th Street. This unique, tech-forward hotel project entailed complete gut and renovation of this building with a double-height lobby with an animatronic T-Rex welcoming guests. All 92 guest rooms feature Japanese style soaking tubs and TOTO washlets, while the superior suites feature private balconies and LG Styler closets that steams and refreshens clothing. Other amenities include a guest lounge and a meeting room.

Perfect Plastics Expansion

Credit Card Manufacturing Facility

KBD Group is providing General Contracting Services for Perfect Plastic Printing’s Expansion project to support plastic card manufacturer serving financial institutions throughout the world. The building is being constructed with insulated load bearing precast concrete exterior building walls, structural steel framing and a TPO roof system. Building aesthetic enhancements will include glazed aluminum entrance systems complimenting the composite metal and glass building canopies and punched window units. Building features include LED lighting and associated lighting control system; one (1) new 1,600amp electrical service and a 350kW generator; DuctileCrete floor slabs; 6000 SF security vault structure; fire protection systems; two (2) dock positions, and solar wall panels; Site improvements include on site storm water detention and 170 car parking incorporating permeables. Interior spaces include approximately 8,400 SF of Class ‘A’ office area; 31,300 SF of air conditioned and humidified process area; and 10,500 SF of assembly and warehouse area.

KBD Group provided General Contracting Services for this 104,000 SF speculative office building with common area and unattached clubhouse.

AISIN North America Plant

KBD Group provided design-build services for this 1+ million SF manufacturing facility. The building consists of an automatic transmission building (AT Building) at 1 million SF which includes an 818,619 SF manufacturing area and a 199,433 SF two-story office, maintenance area, tool shop, and a cafeteria.
