American Fuji Seal

KBD Group provided Design-Build services for American Fuji Seal, a manufacturer of shrink-sleeve labels, self-adhesive labels, spouted pouches and packaging machinery. This manufacturing facility project involved 200,000 SF Tilt-up building with structural steel columns, joists and metal decking. Project also included a 60 Mil PVC roofing, some explosion relief panels, building plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.

This unique, tech-forward hotel project entailed complete gut and renovation of this building with a double-height lobby with an animatronic T-Rex welcoming guests. All 92 guest rooms feature Japanese style soaking tubs and TOTO washlets, while the superior suites feature private balconies and LG Styler closets that steams and refreshens clothing. Other amenities include a guest lounge and a meeting room.

KBD Group provided general contracting services for a 280,140 SF speculative warehouse distribution center in Douglasville, GA. This facility consists of site work and utilities, concrete tilt-up wall panels, conventional concrete slab, and a steel structure with a 36’ clear height. The building has a mechanically fastened TPO roof, 60 dock doors, 2 ramps with overhead doors, ESFR fire protection, 2 store fronts, and clerestory windows throughout the facility. The mechanical and electrical consist of exhaust fans and louvers, unit heaters for freeze protection, site lighting, and a 480/277 volt 2,000 Amp main electrical service. Site work consists of concrete paving, asphalt driveways, and landscaping.

KBD Group is providing General Contracting Services for Perfect Plastic Printing’s Expansion project to support plastic card manufacturer serving financial institutions throughout the world. The building is being constructed with insulated load bearing precast concrete exterior building walls, structural steel framing and a TPO roof system. Building aesthetic enhancements will include glazed aluminum entrance systems complimenting the composite metal and glass building canopies and punched window units. Building features include LED lighting and associated lighting control system; one (1) new 1,600amp electrical service and a 350kW generator; DuctileCrete floor slabs; 6000 SF security vault structure; fire protection systems; two (2) dock positions, and solar wall panels; Site improvements include on site storm water detention and 170 car parking incorporating permeables. Interior spaces include approximately 8,400 SF of Class ‘A’ office area; 31,300 SF of air conditioned and humidified process area; and 10,500 SF of assembly and warehouse area.

KBD provided general contracting services for a 283,820 SF speculative distribution facility. This project was located on a 16.1-acre site, previously occupied by a golf driving range and clubhouse, which KBD demolished prior to the start of construction. The building features 36’ clear height, typical bay size of 55’ x 56’ (56’ x 60’ bay in the staging area), 49 dock positions, 162 car parking (with electrical car charging stations), 2 drive in doors, ESFR fire protection, gas fired air rotation unit heaters, 1600 Amp electrical service, LED high bay and site lighting, and a 7” thick floor slab. The building skin includes insulated precast concrete wall panels (R14), induction welded “Rhinobond” TPO roof (R16), aluminum windows with insulated glass. Also, a 4200 SF office was constructed to allow the facility to be available for immediate occupancy.

The expansion includes a Tire Prep Area, Tire Building (which includes a “Green Tire Mezzanine”), and Curing Area. This expansion also includes demo, concrete slabs, conventional steel, tilt up concrete walls, a PVC roof, and two (2) curing pits, and a 61,136 s.f. concrete Mixing Building Expansion. The mixing building includes drilled piers, elevated structural concrete construction. The 5,371 Test Building Expansion which consists of concrete slab on grade, masonry, conventional steel, and roof. The North Parking Lot expansion consists of asphalt, concrete curbs, and striping to add 154 additional spaces.

After careful planning, NHK leadership team decided to utilize 5,000 SF of additional space within the same facility. The buildings included 281 dock and 8 drive-in doors, 745 car and 254 trailer parking, ESFR fire protection, gas-fired 80/20 pressurization heating units, 2 electrical services per building, LED high bay (with motion and dimming sensors) and site lighting, and 6” thick Ductilcrete floor slabs. Refrigeration systems include (4) Industrial Freon (R-134A) Split Packaged Units with air cooled condensers and hot gas defrost evaporators. Freezer operating temperatures of -10 F with Cooler and Refrigerated Dock operating temperatures of 38 F. Facility includes a 2500A electrical service, electric fire pump, Dry-Air-Pac air compressor systems and QUELL Pre-Action sprinkler system using Ultra K-17 heads with linear heat detection.

This facility includes an office, a warehouse and production space, 45 dock locations, 30 trailer parking spaces, and 375 car parking spaces with 30’ clearance, ESFR sprinkler system, VAV Air Conditioning, and multiple electrical services. This expansion also received LEED certification.

KBD Group provided Design-Build services for the expansion of the Internap Atlanta data center, which is destined to become one of the largest multi-tenant data centers in the southeast. The scope of work included all design and planning for a phased build-out of an existing 40,000 SF office to become a 200 KW/SF data center. Included in this phase was over 12,000 SF of raised floor, new infrastructure rooms, dedicated new electrical and mechanical infrastructure and a shared generator farm as well as 14,000 SF of future data center space. Construction services included multiple road closures for the rigging and erecting of the transformers, air-cooled chillers and chilled water pumps. Design services included 3D modeling and CFD analysis.

KBD Group provided general contracting services for this 242,515 SF speculative distribution facility with 32 foot clear height, insulated precast concrete exterior walls and R17 single ply mechanically attached TPO roof, 7 inch concrete floor slabs, and 40 dock positions. 80 double dome skylights were installed to allow natural light to enter the facility. The building was heated with gas fired roof mounted make-up air units, while the fire protection system was an ESFR system complete with electric fire pump. The electrical system included a 1600 amp capacity service plus a 100 amp house service. Parking was provided for 129 trailers and 218 autos. Project was awarded LEED Silver status by the USGBC. Upon leasing by the landlord, KBD was retained to complete required tenant improvements for a total of 3 various tenants.

KBD Group provided General Contracting services for this 672,678 SF warehouse/distribution building and office with a 32’ minimum clear height behind first girder line fin from loading docks. Construction consisted of tilt-up concrete wall panels, conventional steel framed roof using bar joists and joist girders, single ply TPO roofing. Building was heated and ventilated, included an ESFR sprinkler system and all associated concrete paving and driveways. Building was designed to accommodate multiple tenants.
